Import and properties of an e-learning course
To import an e-learning course, go to Online courses > Courses. Click Import course in the upper right corner.
The only thing you need is the package with the course. Our platform guarantees that courses in SCORM standard will be imported correctly. Choose your package from your computer, you can also add it to a folder on the platform. When you choose everything, click Next. The course will be imported after a moment and when it’s uploaded, you will get redirected to its properties.
In the properties you can change the name or the description of the course. Most of the time the properties are imported with the course. You can also choose categories or add information about the author.
Below you can turn on downloading certificates after users finish the course or set cyclicity. It means that users will have to redo the course after some period.
At the bottom you can check if this course is used in any paths or directories and once again you can choose a group, a folder on the platform.
When you set everything, click Save at the bottom and go up to publish the course. Published course becomes visible to users that are assigned to the course and administrators cannot edit it anymore.
Elements of the course - lessons
When you go to the Elements tab you can see the list of lessons and change their settings.
Click on the name of the lesson that you want to edit.
Most of the settings are imported with the course and there’s no need to change them, but you can safely change the name of the lesson or the size of the window with the course.
The most useful button here is the See lesson one. It allows you to play the course before you assign it to users, so that you can check if everything works.
If you change anything here, remember to save changes at the bottom of the page.
Replacing the course with a new version
If you have a new version of a course that’s already uploaded on the platform, you can replace it without losing any results, assignments and other settings.
You need to make sure that files in the new package are exactly the same as files in the old version.
In the Course content section just choose the package with a new version and wait for it to upload.
Save changes after importing and publish the course.
Direct assignments
Every singular element can be assigned directly to individual users.
Assigning means giving access to an element to users.
To assign an element, go to the Assignments tab and click Add in the upper right corner.
On the list of employees search for people that should have access to the element. Mark them and click Next at the bottom.
Assignments can have time limitations. The element can be unlocked or locked at some point. It can be some specific date and time or some time from assignment, so from the moment you click Finish at the bottom.
Users can be notified about many actions connected with assignments. For example your supervisor can be notified that you finished or failed to finish the element. You can also be reminded that time to finish the element is running out.
When you set everything, click Finish at the bottom and users will get access to the element.
Assignments to groups
Most of the elements can be assigned to whole groups of users to automate the process.
To do that, go to the Assignments to groups tab and click Assign groups.
Search for groups that should have access to this content.
Check them on the list and click Next.
Decide if the element is mandatory for these groups and again click Next.
At the end you need to decide if you want to set a deadline and turn on notifications and click Finish.
Assignments to groups automate access to content. When you add someone to a group they will automatically gain access to everything that is assigned to the group.
Checking results
For every element you can check results to be up to date with employees’ progress. To do that, go to the Results tab.
On the list you can see every assigned person, their statuses and results.
This list works like every other list in the system - you can create a view that will filter results, you can also export it to create an Excel report.
