The to-do list allows users to access all their mandatory programs, paths, trainings, online courses, tasks, files, surveys (non-anonymous), and tests (including pre- and post-tests).
Thanks to it, they no longer have to click through tiles or tabs and worry that they have accidentally missed a mandatory element. It also saves administrators time that was wasted on explaining how users can locate selected elements.

Which elements are displayed on the to-do list?
Programs, paths, trainings, online courses, tasks, files, surveys (non-anonymous), tests (including pre- and post-tests) that are set as mandatory.
Here’s how you can set an element as mandatory.
Assignment type determines how elements are displayed
Whether the element is displayed on the list depends on how it was assigned:
- If via a path/program, there will only be a path/program tile on the list.
- If via direct assignment, an element tile will be displayed on the list.
- If both via a path/program and direct assignment, there will only be a path/program tile on the list.
Configure the to-do list
1. Set assignments as mandatory
What do you need to do?
If you want an element to be displayed on the to-do list you need to set it as mandatory. We recommend you to start with just a few most fundamental, essential elements that an employee needs to complete to be productive in their role.
You can also set elements as mandatory when adding new assignments.
How to do it?
- Go to the assignments tab in element settings.
- Check the boxes next to the groups/users for which the element should be mandatory.
- Click “Set as mandatory” on the panel that appeared at the top of the page.
- That's all, now the element is displayed as mandatory for marked groups/users.

Good to know
At the beginning, we recommend setting only the most important elements as mandatory and checking how many elements are displayed to users on average. Later on, you can increase the number of mandatory assignments. But remember that If there are too many elements on the list, it will lose its value, which is making access to mandatory content easier and increasing the completion rate.
2. Inform users about the change
We recommend communicating the change in your organization. Let employees know what the to-do list is, what it should be used for, and what can be found in it. You can use the public materials for learners that we have prepared.
Manage the to-do list
The list itself does not require administrators to manage it. But, it is important to mark new assignments as mandatory on an ongoing basis and remember to include only elements that are really necessary for employees. Marking optional, low-impact items as mandatory in the hope that it will motivate employees to learn can backfire. Too many elements will make the list lose it value, which is making access to mandatory content easier and increasing the completion rate.

If you set a time restriction on access to an element, it will be displayed at the bottom of the tile as a badge:
- [Lock symbol] Available in X days—when the start date is set in the future.
- [Lock symbol] Time left: X days—after the start date and before the end date.
- [No-entry symbol] Locked—when the end date has passed.
Soft deadline
If you set a soft deadline for a path or program, it will be displayed on the tile next to a clock icon:
- [Clock symbol] Time left: X days—before the soft deadline passes.
- [Clock symbol] Overdue—when the soft deadline has passed.
