✔️ Course editor — creating content, generating with AI, and publishing to the content server

✏️ What is the course editor?

The course editor is where you create your e-learning course content yourself — no external tools, no uploading SCORM packages needed. Add screens, write text, upload images, and build quizzes that check knowledge. You can write everything from scratch or generate content with AI based on pasted text or a PDF file.

🗺️ Course structure

A course consists of screens, and each screen consists of content blocks.

How to add and organize screens

1. On the left side of the editor, click + Content or + Quiz — depending on which screen you want to add.
2. To change the order of screens, use the up/down arrows next to a screen, or drag it to a different place in the list.
3. To delete a screen, click the trash icon next to its name.
4. Click a screen in the list to edit it on the right.

How to add a content block

On the selected screen, click + Add block to open the block library, then choose one of the available types:

• Text — editor with formatting: bold, italic, heading, bulleted/numbered list, link.
• Image — upload a file from your computer (JPG, PNG, or WEBP, max 5 MB) and fill in the alt text (image description for screen reader users).
• Question — available only on Quiz screens. Enter the question text, add answers, and mark which one is correct.

You can move blocks with the up/down arrows and delete them with the trash icon — same as screens.

Important: a single-choice question must have at least 2 answers and exactly one marked as correct.

🤖 How to generate content with AI

1. Click the Generate from PDF button next to the screen list.
2. Paste ready text or upload a PDF file — its content will be extracted automatically.
3. Set the generation parameters:
   • number of screens to create,
   • approximate screen length,
   • content language (Polish, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian),
   • optional: quiz at the end (number of questions, number of answers per question, all questions on one screen or a separate screen for each),
   • optional: automatically generate an image for each screen.
4. Click Generate screens and wait for the preview of the generated screens and questions.
5. Decide whether the new content should replace the existing screens or be added at the end of the course, then click Insert into course.

You can also generate a single AI image for an existing text block — click the AI icon next to that block. The image will be based on the block's content.

Content generated by AI should always be reviewed and corrected if needed before uploading it to the content server.

If the AI feature isn't enabled yet

After clicking an AI button you may see the message "This feature requires consent to use AI." This means the AI feature isn't enabled yet on your platform. Two things are needed:

1. signing an addendum to your contract covering AI features,
2. enabling the feature in system settings.

If you don't have permission to do these steps yourself, contact your platform's account manager or your system administrator.

💾 Saving changes

• Click Save to manually save your changes.
• You can also turn on autosave (checkbox next to the Save button) — changes are then saved automatically about 30 seconds after your last edit.
• A dot next to the Save button means there are unsaved changes.

🚀 How to publish the course to the content server

Saving changes alone doesn't yet make them visible to learners.

1. Click Publish to content server.
2. Wait for confirmation — the course content will be uploaded to the content server, creating a new content version.

A few things worth remembering:

• Until you click Publish to content server, learners see the previous, previously published version.
• The indicator next to the button shows that the course has unpublished changes.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

"Paste text or upload a PDF before generating." — the text field in the AI wizard is empty. Paste source text or upload a PDF before clicking Generate.

"Could not read the PDF. Try pasting the text manually." — the file may have been a scan of the pages instead of plain text, or it may be damaged. Copy the text from the document and paste it directly into the text field.

"Error generating content. Please try again." — something went wrong on the AI generation side. Try again shortly; if the problem persists, contact support.

"Publish failed" — try again shortly. Your changes remain saved in the course, so nothing is lost — the failed attempt only affects uploading content to the content server.

"This feature requires consent to use AI" — this isn't an error, just information that the AI feature isn't enabled yet on your platform (see "If the AI feature isn't enabled yet" above).
